Zephaniah is a bracing text where Judah and the nations surrounding her are judged as a foretaste of the Day of the Lord, the final judgment. As divine judgment is a stumbling block for modern people we defend its logic and show how Zephaniah solves a real human problem, namely, personal identity. In all of this, God’s people are called to be courageous.
